The Faces and Cabin Styles of 6 Different Cruise Lines
On the shirt tales of my blog two weeks ago, I talked about the differences between river cruise companies and how not every river cruise company is created equally. Not only that, there are a good handful of folks that think there is one river cruise company that exists, Viking. There is nothing wrong with Viking, I have a handful of Viking cruises under my belt and I have enjoyed every single one of them however, you do have options and that is the whole goal of ERC, introducing you to the options!
I want to teach you and help you find the right brand to fit your personality and travel style!
I crafted my own descriptive categories to help others understand what each cruise line offers in the price of their cruise. With over 10 major river cruise companies out there, each has something special to help identify their brand to you. Those categories are: A La Carte, Semi-Inclusive, Inclusive, & Super Inclusive. If you want to learn more about those categories, read the January 7th Blog.
This week I worked on creating a hand out of sorts. The goal of this document was to list for you what is inside of each brand of ship. Starting with the sundeck. Why would I start with a sundeck? For many reasons, for example: are the lounge chairs provide shade from the sun, is there a pool on deck or is it just a jacuzzi? If there is a pool on deck, is it heated? Are their walking tracks or yard games like fun full size Chess pieces, and the big one, are their bikes on board and is there enough bikes for every guest? Point is, each brand has a certain identifier. What I learned this week from gathering all the information is that it is a lot of information to organize so I am going to take my time and create something special.
I kept thinking though of visuals so you could first hand see the differences between companies. Then, it hit me, the cabins. I am going to show a balcony cabin from my top 5 brands in alphabetical order.
Cabin Styling
AmaKristina - AmaWaterways -BB Cabin French Balcony & Outside Balcony, 210 sq. ft.
Amadeus B-1 Cabin (17.5 m² / 188 sq.ft.) with drop-down panoramic window

Scenic Waterways PA Balcony Suite /205ft2
Uniworld Deluxe Balcony Lavishly appointed riverview stateroom (194 sq ft - 18 sq m)
Viking River Cruise A or B Verandah Stateroom
Of the 6 companies I have listed above, all these cabins are similar as far as ‘balcony’ or ‘verandah’ cabin. They all range from 188 to 210 square feet. All are lovely and very comfortable. Each offering the amenities and all the things you need like lotions, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, towels and even comfortable robes. The difference is the style, feeling, and branding.
